I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling twenty-twenty-two! The best way to start the New Year is with a New Moon, which is great for manifesting new ideas and sparking all the creativity we prep ourselves for the abundance coming our way. But before we can set goals for the New Year, lets recap the past year! Here is my 2021 blog recap.
The past few years have been so weird. It’s difficult to set out and achieve the things we want to when there are mandates keeping us home. Plus, in my personal life, change has been knocking on every door. Thankfully, my divorce was officially finalised before the ball dropped, so there’s one check on my list. Thank goodness. Now that my marriage is in the past, I can focus on the future. Lets reflect on my 2021 goals, and recap which goals I was able to reach and which ones I should shift for the new year.
In case you didn’t check out my 2021 Goals Post last January, here’s what I set out to achieve this past year:
Blogging Goals
- Write at least 50 blog posts
- (Unique Monthly Visitors) UMV 500/ month
Youtube channel
- Create a custom banner, intro clip, and outro page for Sassy’s Youtube Channel
- Film, edit, and publish at least 10 videos
- 30 followers (you can subscribe here, and get notified if and when we ever make any content)
Travel Goals
- Visit New York at least once
- Actively save towards a camper van
Fitness Related Goals
- Run at least twenty miles each month, totaling at least 250 miles for the year.
- Run two Half Marathons and at least 5 in-person other races
- Win at least 10 monthly challenges on my Apple Watch (not sure what that is? I write about it in this blog post)
Although I consider myself a blogger even when I’m not blogging, there was a lot of… not blogging this past year. I only wrote 15 posts all year! Thankfully, y’all keep my site going by reading my evergreen content.
My UMV for the year is as follows:
- January – 1973
- February – 1207
- March – 1322
- April – 1076
- May – 1022
- June – 1103
- July – 1250
- August – 2221
- September – 1022
- October – 769
- November – 646
- December – 597
So while I definitely had a drastic drop during the last quarter (which could have been prevented if I posted Gift Guides like normal), I successfully stayed over 500 unique monthly viewers!
With the rise of value of video content, we are definitely needing to put more work into our Youtube Channel. (Subscribe to it here!) We published 10 videos, so nailed that number. Hooray! She also finished out the year with 34 followers, so nailed the 30 subscriber goal as well. I did make her a mediocre intro and outro clip, but I will have to update it. I never made her a banner or channel video though. We’ll have to work on that this year.
Travel goals, what are those? Zero stars.
Fitness Related goals were also pretty discouraging. After applying for the Trainer position at my gym, twice, I quit the job I held there out of spite and principle. My running suffered, and races were hard to come by in the first place so without motivation there wasn’t much. I did manage to run a Half Marathon, totally crushed the Cooper River 10k, and ran a 5k as well. Pertaining to Apple Watch challenges, I managed to complete five of them. That’s less than my goal, but still nearly 50% of the year!
Well there it is!
Overall, I think I did well. Although I set very attainable goals, I didn’t want to let myself be discouraged when outside factors stood in my way. Keep an eye out for my Goals for 2022!
