Ahh-ee-ah, Dancing in September! Not Really, but…

september

My daughter is obsessed with Trolls. I caused it. I deserve it. I can’t stop it.

Once, while drinking in college, a friend played Earth, Wind, and Fire’s song “September” and changed the lyrics to poke fun at my roommate. Since then I have never listened to that song without thinking of those days. Which means every time I watch Trolls I am zipped back to good ‘ole PSC. Yuck.

But I really enjoy the movie, and I really enjoy the rest of the soundtrack. Which caused me to put it on some afternoons when I needed a break. Gingiebutt would dance to some of the songs, but nothing serious. Until we spent 17 hours in a car fleeing southeast Texas and heading to North Carolina with the Trolls soundtrack and Moana soundtrack alternating. Now she is obsessed. But at least she’s obsessed with two movies and not just one.

I don’t know how many time’s I can hear “jibber jibber jibber DANNNNCEEEE”. Just kidding, I love when she signs.

But anywho, it’s September. And I am not dancing. Because I hate that song, and because I don’t dance. Unless it’s at Zumba.

August Recap

  • Exceed 30 miles.
  • Focus on arms.
  • Lift every day.

Well, I ran 24 miles and have some biceps peaking. I can’t say i lifted every day, but I did my best and I’m not upset.

So what am I going to do for September?

SHOULDERS for September!

Keeping with alliteration (August, Arms) and building on those arms, I am focusing on shoulders. This means plenty of shoulder presses, lat pulldowns, and dumb bell lat raises (front and side). I’d really like to do some flyes as well, but that machine is in the main room and I’m super intimidated some days. Don’t judge me.

And…. lets try to exceed 25 miles.
