I began my breastfeeding journey when Gingie was 4 days old, and she hasn’t stopped since. Literally. A lot of our success was luck, frankly. But a lot of the success was also from the great support network gained through the Whole Mothering Center.
Each year the Whole Mothering Center of Southeast Texas holds the Normalize Breastfeeding Project, an event focused on streamlining images of breastfeeding mothers into the media. The highlight of the event each year is the large group photo with dozens of babies latched onto their mamas for one picture. The record is 96 nursing mamas in one photo (in 2015).
Sarah and I had decided to team up for our first vendor event and debut DotDotSmile in Beaumont!
Plus, I loved being able to be involved with The Normalize Breastfeeding Project, as a nursing mama myself.
There were speakers throughout the afternoon, educating about various topics like babywearing and chiropractic care. There were also local photographers holding mini-photo shoots of mamas and their nurslings.
We had such a blast promoting the twirly dresses and rompers, and sharing the confidence boost And pure joy that comes the moment a little girl tries one on. Big thanks to the Whole Mothering Center and Beaumont Breastfeeding Coalition for allowing us to be there!
