For the Win!

Today was my lucky day! No really, I was incredibly lucky today. Even though I felt less than productive during nap time, because I literally sat on the couch for three hours and didn’t nothing, overall today was a good day. So good that I’m considering going out to buy a lotto ticket for icing on the cake.

In the past I have generally been a lucky person. Recently my mother sent her DNA out for analysis and it came back that she (and so myself as well) are actually Irish afterall. After years of telling strangers that the redheaded gene in our family is because we are Scottish, not Irish, is actually not true. Apparently we are Irish. And I am also the proud cardholder of the Luck of the Irish club.

Not only was I lucky though, I was lucky specifically pertaining to fitness. That’s a double win! Fitness, for the win.

Photoshoot Mini

Each month the Whole Mothering Center hosts a Peer Support Meeting for breastfeeding moms. Like other WMC events, I didn’t take full advantage until after CA was older. Now as a toddler nursling, I need a whole different kind of support instead of the more common struggles. But I enjoy going and hearing the success stories of other moms, seeing other toddler nurslings, and most of all I really like learning as much as I can about breastfeeding and lactation services. It’s fascinating.

Each month a local business or individual donates a door prize for one of the mamas in attendance. And if you bring a pregnant friend, you get another entry! I’ve come to 3-4 meetings and have not won in the past, but that’s not really the motivator for me. I genuinely enjoy the support and adult conversation.

Well, what a pleasant surprise this morning when I was called as the winner of a free mini photo session with a local photographer! I already reached out and can’t wait to schedule our shoot. I love having professional pictures of my little squish. I almost want to make it a breastfeeding session, in recognition of extended breastfeeding initiatives, and in homage to where I won the session.

Contigo Water Bottle

After determining I wasn’t getting a good value for my gym membership, I recommitted to attend two group fitness classes each week. Which means, back to Centergy! I really enjoyed it last season, and admittedly let life get in the way. So I dragged Iris out again (thanks to Launch Week, classes are free for guests) and we worked through the tracks and worked up a sweat. Man, I am so out of shape! I am fully expecting to feel this all weekend.

At the end of class there was a drawing for some swag. Iris won the teeshirt, and I won a water bottle!

I also won last time I went to Centergy.

Cupid Shuffle 5k Race Entry

Last night at the Sea Rim Striders meeting, we agreed to exchange the clock rental for a sponsorship tier at a local event. The Lumberton Chamber of Commerce is planning a Valentine’s Day themed 5k event to benefit the High School graduating senior. As one perk of the sponsorship, our club received two free entries to the race. We agreed to hold a drawing among Board Members for one entry, and among public SRS members for the other entry.

While at Centergy, all board member names were put into an online randomizer and the selection was filmed. I was busy getting my flow on, so didn’t watch the video. But when I picked up my phone following class, I noticed I had been congratulated as the winner! What!? Literally won two items in less than 10 minutes.

So of course I had to enter a LuLaRoe giveaway, because I love free LuLaRoe. I’ve actually won free LLR twice before, so the odds are potentially in my favor.

What was the last thing you won?
