Wait just a minute, how did January fly by? I think the month zipped past so fast because I’m still waiting for snow. Without snow there is no winter, so it’s hard for me to accept that Spring is sneaking up on us and there hasn’t been a single flake in the sky.
On second thought, I am not complaining. I hate snow! I would not have left the house if we were still living in the Adirondacks, so that’s always a good thing. I really enjoyed our outside playtime this month.
Nonetheless, January is gone and February is here!
The Good
- I crushed a mile PR (apres the Garmin). I didn’t even plan on shooting for that this month, but some things you don’t plan for. And now I have a good Base Mile to compare to in December.
- I completed two virtual runs- Run Houston! and FitFam Challenge.
- I set a new affirmation to run faster and longer.
Could be Better
- Monthly Milage is low. I only reached 28 miles for the month, when I would have liked to surpassed 31. Too many morning skips. Going to improve in February.
- Holy hammies, I have not been stretching the way I should. I need to dedicate more time to stretching after runs, and rolling out just because.
Looking Forward
- Two physical races planned for February (Cupid Shuffle 5k, and Mardi Gras 5k)
- Couch to 5k program should be ending, so I can return to 3+ mile runs at Golden Triangle Strutters.
- Hoping to integrate some interval workouts at the track, to work on speed and endurance.
- I am finally taking steps to repair my body. More on this later as updates develop, but hopefully I will be on a chiropractic careplan within the next few weeks.
How has your January been?
