I did it. Today is the day. You are now able to sign up for DotDotSmile. I enrolled in the new DotDotSmile affiliate program, paid my membership fee, and am officially a Dotdotsmile merchandiser. Charlotte-Ann celebrated with her golden ballerina dress as we ran the Sabine Causeway bridge this evening.
The past six months has been a trial run (pun always intended) as I purchased the dresses wholesale and sold them at events and on social media. Until March, there were very few DDS retailers. But as the company grew, the affiliate program was a necessity to maintain and manage the independent boutiques. We knew it was coming, and finally it launched today. One by one, individuals were able to sign up for DotDotSmile as official merchandisers.
With the affiliate program comes the multi-level marketing aspect, which is truly not my favorite. Although I have recruited quite a few individuals who have also made their wholesale purchases, team building isn’t my goals. Owning a boutique and selling dresses is. We were also directed to find people to register under, even though we had been independent all this time. Thankfully, I found someone right in Texas (who has signed under someone in Minnesota) and should contribute to a great upline team. Even if I have never met them before.
I am an avid runner. My husband and I run at least twice each week with a group, plus on our own. Every Friday we make the 30 minute drive to the Texas and Louisiana state border to run across the causeway bridge. Across and back is nearly exactly 1.5 miles, and the incline is great hill training. Tonight, just as we were about to leave the parking lot, my direct upline and awesome partner in crime was able to successfully enroll in the Dotdotsmile affiliate program. Which meant it was my turn!
The company had released some incredible sneak peaks of the incentives and rewards for affiliates, so I could not be more excited. But with anything new comes apprehension. I read through the 42 page contract and had so many questions and doubts. Would I be successful? Could I explain changes to my customer? Would I be a strong leader? Still breathing heavy from the run, I held my breath as I input my information. Before I could let those doubts consume me, I clicked the enroll now button.
There it is! I’m official. And I ran two miles too! Here’s to running towards my business future.
