As we all know, DotDotSmile is mainly dresses for girls. We have been promised a boys line, with a graphic tee teaser behinds us and unisex leggings on the horizon. The Romper is being redesigned, and the three current styles are being streamlined before more dresses are added.
We do not know what lies ahead. Everything is speculation. But, being an independent merchandiser and listening to my customers, I’ve developed a list of five styles I seriously wish would be released.
Five Styles I wish DotDotSmile would Release
1. Boys Romper. Think about it: the same great fabric we love, but with a little collar and without the peplum. Hearts would swoon.
2. Overalls. Throwing a graphic tee over a dress and tying it at the waist is a quick and simple way to turn a dress into a coordinated outfit. But now imagine the tee under the DotDot. The same cute patterns we love, but with straps that grow with the girl. No skirt, no problem. Shorts would be cute too!
3. Jumpsuits. The Romper is already on redesign, so what if legs were added? The short option is cute, and I do love that peplum, but a pant takes casual to the next level.
4. Vests. The 90s called. They want their denim vests back. And they can have them, if we get our own DotDot vests to wear! Sleeveless, cap, button, or zip– I don’t care. I want them all.
5. Simple Skirt. Here’s the thing, folks. Sometimes when it’s hot, I don’t want to layer a tee. We want that twirly fun skirt, but a silly saying or empowering message on top. So let’s add a full circle skirt with stretchy yoga waistband that can be worn with a tee tucked in, tied off, or hanging loose.
