It seems like everyone has a podcast now. I recently heard that podcasts are replacing blogs in the preferred avenue of non-image content creation. Podcasts are relatively new, and thanks to advances in technology they are easily attainable on many devices (and fairly easy to produce as well). While I will never host my own podcast, sorry not sorry, I have definitely jumped on the podcast bandwagon. I absolutely love listening to them in my car, especially on road trips, and look forward to new episodes. Sometimes I even miss a week or so intentionally, just to binge on it later and soak up everything all at once.
Even though I don’t listen to all of these podcasts daily, or weekly, they make the favorites list because of the value they provide. These podcasts are awesome, either entertaining or informative, or maybe I just really like the host. Personally, I don’t listen to true crime podcasts, so unfortunately if you’re into that genre you might be disappointed. I also generally try to listen to podcasts without NSFW content, and on the flip side I don’t want to be bored with a dry host. Overall, I try to listen to podcasts where I can press play and listen to multiple episodes in a row without losing interest. These podcasts are bingeworthy.
Skimm This Podcast
I absolutely must listen to Skimm This every single day, or if I miss an episode I catch up the next day. Each episode is less than 15 minutes long, and includes information on three hot topics. Usually the first topic is the most important, and the third is something fun or a piece of pop culture. It’s much lighter than watching hours of the news, and less biased, and doesn’t fill the topics with fluff or emotions. In light of covid-19, their format has shifted slightly, since there are less pop culture news topics. Instead there are weekly episodes that dig deeper into hot topics. Either way, it’s essential for understanding important events here in America and across the globe.

Coffee and Kettlebells Podcast
The cofounder and COO of Burn Bootcamp hosts Coffee and Kettlebells, but that’s not why I love this podcast. Morgan discusses so many topics beyond promoting her fitness facility, like motherhood, beauty, hormones, allergies and sensitivities, self care, and body image. Some episodes are long, and have a guest. Others are short tips for the day. I specifically like to listen to this podcast in bulk, like on a road trip. Episodes are a wealth of information, and I often take mental note to listen to certain episodes again based on the topic.

Duolingo French/Spanish Podcast
The Duolingo podcast submerges the listener into another language (either French or Spanish, or there is an English option for Spanish speakers), and shares exciting stories. There is a host who chimes in with english context, but majority of the episode will be in French or Spanish. I enjoy how the French podcast shares stories of people who live across the globe, in French speaking regions, and not exclusively in France. This is one of my favorite road trip podcasts. The best part, you can download a transcript to help solidify any new vocabulary words you might learn during the story. If you’re not at a median level in French or Spanish, or want to learn a different language check out the free Duolingo app here There are so many languages to choose from, and the app makes learning it fun.

Muggle Cast Podcast
The Muggle Cast podcast is great for Harry Potter fans. As one of the first (if not the very first) Harry Potter themed podcasts, the hosts are seriously HP experts, and have been hosting for 15 years. Segments include discussing the Wizarding World fandom, lightly touching the JK Rowling drama, HP trivia, and more. There is even a chapter by chapter discussion of every single book, although not in order. Even though I didn’t read along, it’s great to hear points that may have been missed the first time I read through. Plus, it gives an adult perspective, compared to when we read as children.

My Solo Road
I recently discovered Sydney Ferbache on Tik Tok, where she shares snippets of her life in a van. Her no BS approach to van life is part of what inspired me to put “convert a van into a tiny house” back on my bucket list. My Solo Road is a podcast dedicated to van life, where she breaks down all the questions she gets about living in a home on wheels with her two dogs. She often has guests on air, who have their own van or camper perspectives, and almost always has a glass of wine while recording.

What We Do Podcast
The What We Do podcast hasn’t made a new episode in a while, but I’m still subscribed just in case. The host, Kira Kazantsev (Miss America 2015) just got married, and she’s probably busy doing honeymoon things now. However, the episodes released interview strong women to find out what they do that makes them who they are.

What I Live For Podcast
A friend of mine hosts the What I Live For podcast, and my husband actually was a guest. It alternates real life self care pertaining to weight loss and eating habits (the tough stuff, because the fitness journey isn’t easy, and it isn’t a downhill road.) Willie also interviews people he meets on Instagram in the fitness sphere, and it’s nice to see (erm, hear) a deeper side to some of the fitness and healthy influencers.

Blogging, Unscripted Podcast
Even though most people reading my blog are not bloggers themselves, I still wanted to share the Blogging, Unscripted podcast because it is so informative. Each episode is jam packed with tools for bloggers to be successful. There isn’t 100 episodes full of fluff that encourages listeners to buy a course for the real deal. Danielle gives out all the information she personally uses as a blogger, and I can first hand affirm that her tips are legit. Although some of her information is geared towards fashion bloggers, as that is her niche, it can absolutely be used by any blogger in any niche.
