Target Try-Ons: Swimsuits pt. 1

We officially have dandelions in the back yard, and that means spring is here. There’s still a few weeks before summer bears it’s face, and at some point we’ll be hitting the beach and drinking mixed somethings by my parents pool. But it’s never too early to start scoping out the swimsuits, so of course we took a trip to Target for a swimsuit try-on.

We stopped at Starbucks on the way in so I could be fully caffeinated and properly prepared for the ordeal. Charlotte-Ann demanded her cup of whipped cream (with pink sprinkles, obviously) and had a slight meltdown because they didn’t have any spoons today. I wish life was that simple. After snagging two cute laundry signs from the dollar spot (er, Target’s Playground) we headed to the swimsuit section to try some on.

I chose four of my favorite suits, looking at color, fabric, support, and shape. Surprisingly I didn’t grab a red or black, which is surprising because my suits have frequently been black in the past, and red is one of my favorite colors to wear.

I was most excited about this yellow textured knit suit. The top ties and the back has a double strap- both which can be adjusted to three different loops. I really think the twist in the front is flattering. cute and comfortable.

I was really excited for the one piece (that Charlotte-Ann is wearing) but it was incredibly too small. At first I thought that it was an itsy bitsy teeny weeny, but then I realized I had grabbed the wrong size. Since I had her with me, I couldn’t run out quick to grab a size up, so she modeled it instead.

The top I’m wearing is a super fun boho vibe crochet top, which is very trendy right now. I wanted to love it because it is very cute. I may have needed to size up on this one, because I didn’t like how the back came together. Also the bottoms, which are not crochet, had a butt-lift cinch that was unique. Overall, very cute. I wish I had brought a hat in to wear with it.

This cobalt blue suit is a bomb dot com color, and I adore it. Jewel tones have always been in my color wheel, and I was thrilled to find this suit. The top has a very nice silhouette that reminds me of the neckline on my wedding dress, so that’s super special for me. And it’s is not overly padded, but has easy access (for big boobies, or breastfeeding mamas). The back of the top was a bit pesky, because it corsets down and ties at the bottom. The suit bottoms have a very slight triple strand detail that is still very modest.

I didn’t buy any of the suits today, because I want to try a few more before I commit. But I’m leaning towards the yellow!
