Prime Day 2020 Deals

Happy Prime Day 2020, y’all! Usually Prime Day is in July, but thanks to the ‘rona it was postponed until October. Honestly, I think this was a great move because it is an unofficial kickoff to holiday shopping! I know I am already thinking about the winter gift giving season, and my wallet is not ready.

These Amazon Deals are limited to Amazon Prime members only! It’s just another perk of having a Prime Membership. (Does anyone remember when Prime’s only perk was basically 2 day free shipping? Talk about a Glow Up). If you don’t have Amazon Prime, yet, you are able to sign up for the membership to gain eligibility for the deals.

Prime Day Pro-Tip:

At the end of the day, Prime Day is a marketing technique for Amazon to gain sales. They are targeting you with these great deals. Don’t fall victim to the high discount percentages and purchase items you don’t need! Unfortunately, there are instances each year where the retail price is raised, and the sale price is only slightly lower than the original retail. But the price cut looks drastic! I use the Honey extension to compare the average price of items over the past 30 days to make sure I’m getting a good deal.

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite deals, and sorted them by categories for easy browsing. Although some of the sales are not the same this year, my Prime Day 2019 blog post still has some great suggestions. If you’re interested in what I snagged last year, check out My Amazon Prime Day Cart.

Be sure to check back throughout the day for updates and additions!

Amazon Smart Devices

As always, Prime Day is the best time to stock up on Amazon Echo (and affiliated) products. These are the smart devices that make you say “Hey Alexa” to activate. We have an Echo in basically every room, and use them for checking the weather and traffic situations, setting timers and alarms, playing music, telling bedtime stories, and more. The Echos now connect to so many other products, which truly make your house a smart home.

  1. Echo Dot: It starts with one… Once you have an Echo, you will want one in every room. Trust me.
  2. Ring Doorbell: See who is at the door without opening it, or without even being home!
  3. Echo/Ring Combo: Best bang for your buck if you’re looking to kickstart a smart home.
  4. Smart Bulb Starter Kit: Never stub your toe in the morning again. Use the Ring App or Alexa devices to turn on the lights.
  5. Amazon Auto: Bring Alexa into your car, and have her talk through the speakers. Great for hands free activity while driving.
  6. Amazon Flex: Discreet Echo device with motion detector, and USB charging ports
  7. Echo Show: All the original Alexa perks, but with video. Great for video calls, recipe demos, music videos, etc
  8. Flex/Smart Plug Combo: Use this combo to add voice control to any electronic in your home (if in the smart plug)
  9. Echo Buds: All the perks of a great earbud, but with voice activated controls linked up to the Alexa app.

Spark Joy: Home Essentials

No one wants to clean their house, but some things make it easier. Keeping a tidy home doesn’t need to be a chore, with some good essentials and organizational items.

  1. iRobot Roomba: The cleaning trend that’s hitting homes everywhere. A robot vacuum that connects to your phone via wifi and can sweep up pet hair and other particles while you’re at work or asleep.
  2. iRobot Roomba: Just like above, but automatically empties!
  3. Cordless Stick Vacuum: This is great for small homes with tight corners. Cordless means no tangles or getting caught on furniture.
  4. Bissell Carpet Cleaner:
  5. Storage Cubes: These cubes are essential for kids rooms, closets, or class rooms.
  6. Robot vac: self charging, cheaper alternative to the big name brands

  1. Fire HD 10 Tablet: The Kindle Fire is not a e-reader, it’s a fully functioning tablet with huge screen and cameras!
  2. Fire HD 8 Kids: Kid’s Fire with case- great for school aged kids, and has a no-questions asked guarantee (which we used)
  3. Kindle Paperwhite: The basic Kindle e-reader. It doesn’t hurt your eyes, and has a backlight for reading in bed at night.

  1. Lintelek Fitness Tracker: Basic, affordable fitness tracker with the must have features and multiple color options
  2. Garmin vivoactive 4S
  3. Garmin Varia RTL510: If you are a long distance cyclist who may ride during dawn or dusk, you need this tail light. Not only does it improve your visibility by cars, but it will alert you to a vehicle. It connects to your Garmin watch.
  4. Garmin Forerunner 645: The Forerunner was my first, and favorite, running watch. The 645 has heart rate monitoring and music, which sets it apart from my old 15.
  5. Garmin Forerunner 735XT: This is a multisport watch, so great for running, cycling, or swimming.
  6. Garmin fenix 5s Plus: The fenix is one of the most intense Garmin watched, but bulky. This one has the features, but is slightly smaller.
  7. Fitbit Versa 2: Beautiful yet basic fit tracker with heart rate, sleep tracker, and even swim tracking.

Miscellaneous:

One of the favorites on Prime Day is DNA testing. 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service is 50% off, so you can get one for both you and your partner for the price of one kit. People have found lost relatives, connected with biological families, and the system can even be expanded to include genetic likelihood of medical concerns.

Although I stopped drinking soda years ago, I do have a fondness for sparkling water. But of course I try to be low waste, so single serve water bottles go against my ideals. A SodaStream Jet Sparkling Water Maker can add that fizz to plain, filtered water. Or you can add a splash of flavor without it becoming overly sugary.

These massage guns are killing it in the fitness industry. If you are a runner, lifter, or work in the labor industry, you need one. This OPOVE M3 Pro Massage Gun has multiple attachments for deep tissue massage, plus a case for storage. It is battery powered, so you don’t need to worry about the cords getting tangled.

As always, let me know if you grab anything! And let me know if you prefer Prime Day in October, or should it go back to July next year?
